Managing Employees
Before you can assign work effectively, you need to know who’s on your team, what they can do, and when they’re available.
The employee directory gives you this view—everyone in your organization, their roles, their qualifications, and their current assignments.
The employee list
Section titled “The employee list”Click into the employee section to see your team. You’ll see names, roles, departments, and high-level availability. Click on someone to see their full profile.
Qualifications
Section titled “Qualifications”People have different skills and certifications. A certified arborist can do different work than a general laborer. Someone with a CDL can drive certain equipment.
Valiro lets you track these qualifications:
- Professional certifications
- Equipment licenses
- Safety training completions
- Special skills
When you’re assigning work, you can filter by qualification to find people who can actually do the job. This prevents assigning high-voltage electrical work to someone who isn’t certified for it.
Availability
Section titled “Availability”Not everyone is available all the time. People take vacation, have training days, or are already booked on other projects.
The availability view shows:
- Current project assignments
- Scheduled time off
- How loaded someone is (utilization)
Before assigning a big task to someone, check if they have capacity. If someone’s already at 100% utilization on other projects, adding more work just creates problems.
Adding employees
Section titled “Adding employees”Team members are typically added through your organization’s authentication system. If someone’s missing from the directory, check with your admin—they handle user provisioning.
Keeping information current
Section titled “Keeping information current”Qualifications expire. Certifications need renewal. People gain new skills.
Keep the directory updated. If someone gets a new certification, add it. If something expires, note it. Accurate data means better assignment decisions.
Next: Planning Tasks covers how to allocate work to your team. Utilization Tracking shows how to monitor capacity.
