Using Semantic Search
Semantic search uses artificial intelligence to find relevant information in your documents - even if the exact search terms do not appear.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”Unlike traditional search, which looks for exact words, semantic search understands the meaning of your question and finds contextually matching passages.
Example:
- Search: “What are the costs?”
- Finds: “The budget is 50,000 euros”
Search Field
Section titled “Search Field”Enter your question in natural language:
- “What materials are needed?”
- “Who is responsible for quality inspection?”
- “What are the safety requirements?”
Advanced Settings
Section titled “Advanced Settings”Click “Advanced” to display additional options:
Filter by Project
Section titled “Filter by Project”Restrict the search to documents of a specific project.
Number of Results
Section titled “Number of Results”Determine how many relevant passages should be displayed (1-50).
Minimum Relevance
Section titled “Minimum Relevance”Set how relevant a result must be to be displayed:
- 30% - Shows more results, including less relevant ones
- 50% - Balanced setting (default)
- 80% - Only highly relevant results
Results
Section titled “Results”Each result shows:
- Document Name - Click to open the full document
- Relevance Score - How well the passage matches the search
- Text Excerpt - The relevant section with highlighted search terms
