Using Semantic Search

Semantic search uses artificial intelligence to find relevant information in your documents - even if the exact search terms do not appear.

Unlike traditional search, which looks for exact words, semantic search understands the meaning of your question and finds contextually matching passages.

Example:

  • Search: “What are the costs?”
  • Finds: “The budget is 50,000 euros”

Enter your question in natural language:

  • “What materials are needed?”
  • “Who is responsible for quality inspection?”
  • “What are the safety requirements?”

Click “Advanced” to display additional options:

Restrict the search to documents of a specific project.

Determine how many relevant passages should be displayed (1-50).

Set how relevant a result must be to be displayed:

  • 30% - Shows more results, including less relevant ones
  • 50% - Balanced setting (default)
  • 80% - Only highly relevant results

Each result shows:

  • Document Name - Click to open the full document
  • Relevance Score - How well the passage matches the search
  • Text Excerpt - The relevant section with highlighted search terms
