Creating Tasks
Tasks are the individual action items that make up your work packages. They represent specific pieces of work that need to be done.
Required Fields
Section titled “Required Fields”A clear, action-oriented description of what needs to be done. Good task titles:
- Start with a verb (e.g., “Install”, “Review”, “Complete”)
- Are specific enough to understand without context
- Are concise but descriptive
Optional Fields
Section titled “Optional Fields”Task Type
Section titled “Task Type”Select a predefined task type if available. Task types may include:
- Custom fields for that type of work
- Default values and settings
- Standardized naming
Priority
Section titled “Priority”Set the urgency level:
- Low - Can be done when there’s time
- Medium - Should be done on schedule
- High - Needs attention soon
- Urgent - Requires immediate action
Due Date
Section titled “Due Date”When the task should be completed by.
Assigned To
Section titled “Assigned To”The team member responsible for completing the task.
Description
Section titled “Description”Additional details, instructions, or context for completing the task.
Custom Fields
Section titled “Custom Fields”If the selected task type has custom fields, fill them out as needed. These may include:
- Measurements or quantities
- Location details
- Material requirements
- Checklist items
