Creating Tasks

Tasks are the individual action items that make up your work packages. They represent specific pieces of work that need to be done.

A clear, action-oriented description of what needs to be done. Good task titles:

  • Start with a verb (e.g., “Install”, “Review”, “Complete”)
  • Are specific enough to understand without context
  • Are concise but descriptive

Select a predefined task type if available. Task types may include:

  • Custom fields for that type of work
  • Default values and settings
  • Standardized naming

Set the urgency level:

  • Low - Can be done when there’s time
  • Medium - Should be done on schedule
  • High - Needs attention soon
  • Urgent - Requires immediate action

When the task should be completed by.

The team member responsible for completing the task.

Additional details, instructions, or context for completing the task.

If the selected task type has custom fields, fill them out as needed. These may include:

  • Measurements or quantities
  • Location details
  • Material requirements
  • Checklist items
