Understanding Project Health
The project health feature provides automated analysis of your project’s progress compared to its timeline.
Health Metrics
Section titled “Health Metrics”The health dashboard shows:
- Timeline Progress - How much time has elapsed since the project started
- Task Progress - Percentage of tasks completed
- Variance - The difference between task progress and timeline progress
Variance Interpretation
Section titled “Variance Interpretation”| Variance | Status | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| > +5% | Ahead | Tasks are ahead of schedule |
| -5% to +5% | On Track | Project is progressing as expected |
| -5% to -20% | Behind | Tasks are falling behind the timeline |
| < -20% | Critical | Significant delay, attention needed |
Status Recommendations
Section titled “Status Recommendations”Based on the calculated variance, the system may suggest updating your project status:
- On Track - Progress matches or exceeds timeline
- At Risk - Minor delays detected
- Needs Attention - Significant delays require action
When Health Cannot Be Calculated
Section titled “When Health Cannot Be Calculated”Health metrics require:
- A start date for the project
- A due date for the project
- At least one task in the project
If any of these are missing, the health analysis cannot be performed.
Updating Project Status
Section titled “Updating Project Status”If the suggested status differs from the current status, you can update it directly from this drawer by clicking the “Update Status” button.
