Creating Work Package Templates
Work package templates define reusable work package structures with predefined fields and task types.
What Are Work Package Templates?
Section titled “What Are Work Package Templates?”Work package templates store:
- Name and description
- Custom field types
- Default settings for tasks
This allows teams to quickly create consistent work packages.
Required Fields
Section titled “Required Fields”Give the template a descriptive name.
Examples:
- “Standard Installation”
- “Maintenance Work”
- “Quality Inspection”
Optional Fields
Section titled “Optional Fields”Description
Section titled “Description”Explain the purpose and typical use of this template.
Custom Fields
Section titled “Custom Fields”Define fields that should be captured for tasks in this work package:
Available Field Types:
- Text - Free text fields for notes or descriptions
- Number - Numeric values (quantities, measurements)
- Select - Dropdown with predefined options
- Checkbox - Yes/No fields
- Date - Date picker
Field Configuration
Section titled “Field Configuration”For each field, you can specify:
- Field Name - Descriptive name
- Required - Whether the field must be filled in
- Options - For select fields, the available options
After Creating
Section titled “After Creating”The template is immediately available:
- As a template option when creating new work packages
- The custom fields appear in tasks
- Field workers see the fields in the mobile app
