Creating Work Package Templates

Work package templates define reusable work package structures with predefined fields and task types.

Work package templates store:

  • Name and description
  • Custom field types
  • Default settings for tasks

This allows teams to quickly create consistent work packages.

Give the template a descriptive name.

Examples:

  • “Standard Installation”
  • “Maintenance Work”
  • “Quality Inspection”

Explain the purpose and typical use of this template.

Define fields that should be captured for tasks in this work package:

Available Field Types:

  • Text - Free text fields for notes or descriptions
  • Number - Numeric values (quantities, measurements)
  • Select - Dropdown with predefined options
  • Checkbox - Yes/No fields
  • Date - Date picker

For each field, you can specify:

  • Field Name - Descriptive name
  • Required - Whether the field must be filled in
  • Options - For select fields, the available options

The template is immediately available:

  1. As a template option when creating new work packages
  2. The custom fields appear in tasks
  3. Field workers see the fields in the mobile app
